The Robert W. and Susan T. Brown Family Foundation

Making a difference in the lives of children, families and the environment

About Us

The Robert W. and Susan T. Brown Family Foundation (The Brown Family Foundation) is dedicated to the support of both international and US programs that create improvements in the lives of children, families and their environment.

Red Canoe is a reference to a cherished canoe used by the Brown family for over a century in Northern Wisconisn.  It represents the strong family values that are the tradition of the Browns.  It also carries the commitment to the environment through years of lessons from the founders of the Brown and Taylor heritage.  It was purchased by Susan's grandfather in the early 1900's and restored after many generations of use by the Northwoods Canoe Company.

History

Founded in 2007, Robert and Susan Brown created The Foundation in conjunction with their children and grandchildren. Governed and managed by the family directors, the Foundation maintains a unified commitment to its mission. With roots in Iowa and Wisconsin, the founders imparted faith-based principles to their children for giving and sharing with their communities around the country and the world.  Each program that is supported has a personal meaning and purpose.
